STOx's is oficially qualified to RoboCup 2014

The STOx's team from Universidad Santo Tomás has gained the qualification for fourth time in a row to the RoboCup world championship of this year. The results were released by the organizing comitee last tuesday march 25th on the league's wiki. For this year, 28 teams from all over the globe achieved qualification and this year STOx's is the only Colombian team in the tournament. Together with five teams from Brazil and one from Mexico are the groups of latin-americans teams. The following table contains the teams that are qualified.

Qualification for RoboCup 2014

The team's classification process for the RoboCup 2014 already started. This year the event will be held in Joao Pessoa from the 19th to the 25th of July. The deadline for the pre-registation process was the 31st of January and 38 teams from all over the globe stated their intention to participate in the contest. The STOx's team from University of Santo Tomás shows up again as the only representative of Colombia and together with teams from Chile, Perú and Brasil are the representative of the south-american continent.

The next step within the qualification process is the final stage of the process and it will give the organizing comitee all the arguments to decide the group teams that will finally attend the event. Every team is required to send to the organizing comitee a Team Description Paper (TDP) and a short video that should demonstrate the playable capabilities of the team. The deadline to send both products is the 28th of February and the notification of the final group of teams will be the 15th of March.

 Team Description Paper

The Team Description Paper is a technical paper where each team should describe the main components of their robots and their strategies. The main idea is that the most important information of succesful teams could be shared among all teams. This will encourage new teams to join the RoboCup initiative without the need to start from scratch by taking advantage of the previous team's experiences.

 Qualification Video

In addition to the TDP, a short video should also be submitted for the qualification process. The video should contain at least 1 minute of unedited continous footage and it should demonstrate the team's capabilities to play in an international competence.
